Be sure to watch Dr. Marc Lamont Hill on Vlad TV as he addresses in summit how he has felt for years which lead to his book called, “NOBODY.” Not only are black people subject to mass incarceration but also experience getting killed by police who rarely serve time for these actions. He points out the frame work that we all have been conditioned to operate on – that black people are violent. He notes that the problem is that the entire justice system is designed so that it can’t do anything but yield injustice to black people. So in this way, the system is working and WE NEED TO BREAK IT. We need to imagine a world without prison. To do that we start with our school (early education), community health and economic.
